BACKGROUND
After over two decades of civil war, the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) signed on 9 January 2005 between the Government of Sudan and the Southern People’s Liberation Army/Movement (SPLA/M) has set a stage for the peaceful coexistence of the Sudanese people and a chance for the economic development of the country as a whole and Southern Sudan in particular. Buffalo Commercial Bank Plc. is one of the outcomes of the Peace in the Country and commitment to the CPA by the signatories. Promoted by Southern Sudanese, the Buffalo Commercial Bank Plc. (BCB) has started its operations from Juba, the seat and capital of the Government of Southern Sudan after the issuance of Operating License by the Bank of Southern Sudan (BOSS). Branch offices will be opened in all the ten states of the Southern Sudan as well as Khartoum, the Capital of Sudan within two year of its establishment. This will help reaching out the Sudanese people living in the remote states and connect them with the mainstream national economy. Similarly, in order to reach out to refugees and diasporas Sudanese community, the bank will initiate the process of opening the branch offices in the neighboring greater East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia from the third year of its establishment. The bank aims to contribute to the national economy by providing complete banking services to the public in general, business community, State and federal government institutions, civil society organizations etc. The bank with the theme slogan ” Your partner in development ” would like to work in authentic partnership model to help individuals and corporate institutions realize their financial needs, thus nurturing the CPA.
